Levani Tsitskishvili
Dr. Levan Tsitskishvili, DVM, PhD is a Senior Scientist at the Ivane Beritashvili Center of Experimental biomedicine and supervises the animal nursery division. Dr. Tsitskishvili holds a PhD in Biological Sciences and professional doctoral degree in Veterinary Medicine. He has more than 20 years of experience investigating the effect of environmental factors on animal and human health. He has studied the epidemiology of communicable and non-communicable diseases and identified high risk zones for the distribution of select diseases in Georgia.Dr Tsitskishvili has participated in several projects funded by the ISTC and FAO. He has published more than 40 scientific works in Georgian and international journals. Furthermore, these works are actively used to develop disease control programs in the Caucasus region (Georgia, Armenia, and Azerbaijan). Dr. L.Tsitskishvili is also a founder and vice-president of the International Veterinary Association “Veterinarians Sans Frontiers - Caucasus”.
