Karen Mulkijanyan
Prof. Karen Mulkijanyan is the Head of the Department of Preclinical Pharmacological Research at Tbilisi State Medical University I.Kutateladze Institute of Pharmacochemistry. He is a Member of the TSMU Faculty of Pharmacy Dissertation Board at TSMU and University Ethics Committee on Animal Research. K.Mulkijanyan holds a Master's degree in Biochemistry and PhD in Pharmacy. Since 1983 his research interests cover experimental pharmacology; analysis of SAR and prediction of bioactivity of natural, modified and synthesized compounds; laboratory animal care and use. K.Mulkijanyan was a manager and key investigator of several research projects funded by CRDF Global/GRDF(2007; 2008; 2013; 2014), GNSF/SRSNF(2009-2015; 2020), and STCU(2011). K.Mulkijanyan is an author and co-author of more than 130 scientific papers, one book chapter and about 30 presentations at international scientific meetings and 2 patents in pharmacology. As the Organizing/Scientific Committee member he managed up to 20 local and international conferences and workshops. In 2016 he promoted the foundation of the Georgian Association of Laboratory Animal Science (GALAS) and has been its president ever since.
